What Our Students Say

"The School of Philosophy is a place where I can go to remove the clutter from my mind and enjoy the company of people with similar views. It has taught me to consider the effects of thoughts and actions on the world around me. I have become aware of things that affect my happiness and love toward my fellow inhabitants of this world. To others considering the School, I would say 'Don't dismiss it before you try it.'" - Denis H., Valentine

Photo of student Marilyn"The School gives me inspiration. It gives me tools to live and thrive in a balanced way in a complicated 21st century. It gives me tools to look at any 'problem' with new eyes and rise above it. It gives me the opportunity to meet people who have varying view points but have in common a search for and recognition of truth. To others considering the School, I would say 'It's great - you'll love it. It opens you up to the wisdom of every age, and how you can use that wisdom every day to not only enrich your life but, like a ripple effect, those of everyone around you.'" - Marilyn S., Kotara

Photo of student Christine"The School of Philosophy has been and is an invaluable vehicle for understanding the true nature of who I am. It helps me to answer long standing questions that I've had about my connection to the world and God, and to pose even more questions. I feel I have already come to a better understanding of how so many aspects of life fit together and are all wonderful avenues for learning and growth instead of reason for fear and confusion. I would encourage anyone who has a longing for a deeper understanding of life and the role they play in it to come along with an open mind and experience something that is truly life altering in a very positive way." - Christine C., Mayfield

Photo of student Kate"The School is a nurturing, guiding influence in my life. It has provided me with tools and ways to improve how I live. I have more options now, or it appears that way to me. I am less limited by fear and negativity. I enjoy being with others in the School and learning along side them. It is a supportive environment. I encourage anyone considering the School to look at an overview of each course content ... and sign up for an Introductory course to experience it for themselves." - Kate S., Weston

After studying and practicing meditation for many years and having many unanswered questions, I was delighted to join some friends who had decided, on answering an ad in the newspaper, to attend a twelve week course on Practical Philosophy. After several years of application of the School's principles, greater understanding of written material is achieved, and an incredible understanding of one's own mind is revealed. The School is a wonderful opportunity to mix with like-minded people. It is a privilege to have access to such wonderful material that sheds light on the truth and, through meditation, a means to access it. - Roni O. Lake Munmorah

The School has become an important aspect of my every day life. The practices it suggests such as pausing, exercise, stillness and trying to stay in the present moment, are helpful and grounding. - Patricia B. Charlestown.

The School is a wonderful, secure place to come to each week to discuss ideas in a non-judgemental environment with like-minded people. The notions that form the essence of each week's tutorial can be easily applied in daily life and help to enable an attempt to achieve a higher presence of mind. - Janette B., Newcastle
